Digital Podcast - The world's best podcasts

Box office Good, Bad and Ugly.  The highs and lows of Kevin Smith.  Earthquakes in Phoenix.  Price-is-Right D-Back predictions.  "In Related News."  An apology to Sandra B.  B.O.Y.  Gay, Bi or Straight?  Avatar, Pocahontas or Dances With Wolves?  Flying Fish Bukakke.  All these wonderful topics covered in this special 3-way episode named for it's guest host.

It's been a long time coming.  For a while we've wanted to break free of this boring, monogamous relationship we call The Zen and Peace Show and introduce another sausage link into a sick and twisted manage-a-talk.

Meet Truckin' Tommy.  If the name sounds familiar, it's because Tom has been with us from the very beginning, supporting the show with emails, voicemails and other digital harassments that frankly should have landed him a restraining order a long time ago.

We've rewarded his shenanigans with a chair and a microphone (albeit a tinny built-in laptop mic) and although it was a little rough going he does manage to drop some golden audio nuggets.

Thanks Truckin' Tommy for sitting in this go-round and we sincerely hope you'll do it again!

Among the many varied and seemingly unrelated topics we cover during the recording are sprinkled some new segments.  "In Related News" is something you'll be hearing a lot more of in the future.  B.O.Y. (Babes of Yesteryear) will definitely be a topic we revisit from time to time.  This is an award we hand out to Screen and Music Godesses who blessed our adolescence with their beauty.  In layman's terms, they were first among the women who held our sweaty and sometimes sticky hands as we walked the awkward road from boys to men.  In this Inaugural Edition, we pay homage to Joanne Whalley and Dana Delany.  Ladies, we salute you.

Two new games are played, and it was a real pleasure to actually have TWO contestants squaring off instead of Peace squaring off against his own ignorance.  Gay, Bi or Straight challenged Tom and Kevin to separate rumor from fact when it comes to celebrities and their sexual orientations.  Avatar, Pocahontas or Dances With Wolves was incredibly difficult for our two co-hosts as they had to decide if a given line was from one of three movies that were all taken from the same script (in theory).

Music selections from this episode:

The Intro song was again from our good friends The Clam Tostada. The song "Birkenstock Girl"

The First Break was D-Backs Swing by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers.

The Second Break Song was "Crazy Town" by Velocity Girl, one of my favorite 90's bands.  Sadly they broke up a long time ago, but you can still visit their decidedly retro, low-res website that was designed back in the days of dial-up.  No Flash here!

The Third Break Song is a rocker from new punk band Dropout Year. The song is "Mile Marker"

And finally, our Outro:

Motorcade of GenerosityCake "Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle" (mp3)

from "Motorcade of Generosity" (Upbeat Records)

Here's a couple Youtube clips that were mentioned during the show:

There were picks from each host.  Zen picked the "Life" series of documentaries on The Discovery Channel, mainly for the fact that they concentrate mostly on animal sex.  Kevin picks the DVD series that chronicles Kevin Smith's Q&A tours across the globe, titled "An Evening With Kevin Smith."  Truckin' Tommy picks the BBC television series "Top Gear."

Finally, if you have a Netflix Streaming account, we invite you to "ADD THIS!"  These are movies we mentioned during the show that can be watched on Netflix's Instant Streaming.

* Career Opportunities

* Demolition Man

* Housesitter

Finally, you have (and this time we really mean it) only until the 11th to get your Haiku Movie Review in.  We should have ended the contest this episode, but we ran out of time!

Enjoy the show!
